Steel Detailer
The job
Steel Detailer (Atlantic Bridge & Engineering, Inc; Hampton, NH): Reading and creating detailed drawings and blueprints of buildings, bridges, and other infrastructures. Specific responsibilities include: Repairing detailed shop and erection drawings for steel structures including buildings and bridges. Ensuring accurate fabrication and erection of steel components including columns, beams, and trusses. Using computer-aided design (CAD) Tekla software to create plans. Working on multiple high-volume projects while meeting benchmarks and timelines of steel fabrication schedules. Collaborating with the company’s Project Managers and in-house shop fabricators to ensure the designs meet structural requirements and industry standards. 20% of regional and national travel to visit job sites and potential contractual bid sites.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field plus 4 years of experience in a structural engineering role.
Must have: 3 years of experience using detailing software including AutoCad and Tekla software. 3 years of experience with design connection and reading design drawings and specifications. 3 years of experience using blue beam and Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated knowledge of AWS D1.1 & D1.5 weld symbols.
